Vitamin Water Bummer

Probably not a good idea to post this right now, I am already SO thirsty. But anyways, I LOVE this stuff. I usually HATE flavored water such as Propel. But this really is so refreshing and I love the subtle flavor. I also love the clever slogans on the bottle, "Vitamins+Water =all you need" and "For best results, stick it in the fridge!" Try it, you'll like it. So today I was at Walmart and they had these 24 packs in a cardboard flat for $3. I was skeptical but I figured if they were marked wrong then oh well, their bad. I was so excited about my purchase, that is until... DUN DUN DUN. That MEAN cash register lady (Jamie, you know the one!!) called me over to her line & then told me it was NOT SO. She said only four for $3. Well then change your misleading sign! I know if it was my typical young register guy he would have gave em to me for that price! So me & the Vitamin Water parted ways... Boo Hoo. :(

A good idear...

I LOVE giving my boys popsicles in the bath!

  • It BRIBES them to get in the bath, quick.
  • No messy kitchen, clothes, hair, or bodies.
  • Because they deserve it.

That Hair...

When Kosty wakes up in the morning, the back of his hair looks like a horizontal, FUZZY, mullet. (yes I said horizontal-it goes straight out instead of the typical "down the back" mullet) Its like a different breed than the rest of his silky hair. I love running my fingers through it to get all the tangles out, & trying to see just HOW BIG I can make it. He does not appreciate my efforts.

Here is the before...

A horrifying view from the side. YOSWER.

I'd be pretty ticked too if my hair looked like that!

Some special blow dryer effects, a brush, and a squirt bottle

And the After. I especially love how the back gets SO curly when it gets wet.

Hey, GIMMIE that! "ME DO IT!"

This is makin' me thirsty

All wet. Oh well. "A" for effort, Mom.

His hair is high maintenance, but I wouldn't want it any other way.

A REALLY good day.

Oh, that is such a LIE. Things started out somewhat normal but now that I think of it, this entire day has been a catastrophe. Brayden has been really sad about "being bored" lately and even broke down in tears over it on Monday. So I made sure that he had a neighbor friend to play with pretty much every day this week. When its time to pick him up or take the friend home, he has been turning into a CRAZY LUNATIC. SO frustrating. Today was by far the worst, he threw himself on the floor and went into a ballistic oblivion. And the ultimate knife-to-the-heart, "I think you hate me." No matter how long he plays, its just too short.

Oh, and the boys were being rowdy and woke Kosty up early from his VERY SACRED nap. :(
Then Kosty turned on one of Brayden's Thomas trains and ran it over my head. Well since the wheels were in motion, it wrapped my hair around the tires and a HUGE chunk of my hair was stuck. I couldn't see well enough on the top of my head to untangle it, and it was WAY too much hair to just rip out. So, me & my Train, & the boys had to go across the street and PRAY my sister-n- law answered the door. She didn't. I stood there, like CRAP. now what? Then luckily, her husband came to the door. Just imagine looking out your peephole to see me with 'Spencer the Train' stuck in my hair. HA! so he started untangling it and then Mindy walked in hysterically laughing. He got it out. YAY! Then we went home and while I was recovering from the trauma, Brayden decided to turn himself into a coloring page and colored his entire body with green marker.

Just to top things off, Kosty decided that tonight would be a good time to try pooping in the bath tub for the first time. EEWWWWW! I know I have changed a MILLION disgusting diapers in my life, but nothing is as purely DISGUSTING and WRONG as having to scoop poop out of the bath tub! GRRRRRR. So then I had to take him out and put him in my shower and disinfect his tub. And I LOATHE cleaning tubs/showers.

My only regret for today is that I didn't have Mindy take a picture of the train stuck in my hair. DANG! What was I thinking?! I'm quite sure it would have made everyone LAUGH. So glad this day is over, kids are asleep, and I cant wait to get to bed. I have to say this has been very therapeutic recording all this, ahhhh. I feel better now.

Jibber Jabber

Last night when I was giving the boys a bath, Brayden said, "Nevermind. I don't want you to have 9 babies... just 6. Because only 6 can fit in the bathtub."

Other funny things he has said lately:

"You always trip over rocks if you don't have the Holy Ghost inside..."

To his (girl) friend, "Did you know Heavenly Father can hear EVERYBODY'S prayers!?"

"We're havin' a rough day, huh."

Happy, Happy Birthday Brittney Dear...

The big 28! Just wanted to say Happy Birthday to my big sister Ta-B. I hope you have a special day! I wanted to share a few reasons why I love ya...

-That LAUGH! everyone knows its the best, its original, and its highly contagious.

-You make everyone feel like they are HILARIOUS (I swear, nobody thinks I am as funny as you do!)

-You are an awesome big sis (& we have come a long way from all my "Brittney is so mean to me" diary entries!)

-You are honest and genuine and REAL. Love that! (Stef can attest to her honesty. 2 words= purple metallic)

-You are probably the only big sister who was COOL w/ the fact that YOUR friend wanted to date your lil sis and even wanted us to get married! Oh, Thanks, by the way :)

-You are probably the only person I know that could turn a "white trash sale" into a major laugh fest and almost good time! (I hope you like the gross pic of that unforgettable event!)

Nachos with mom

Anyone who knows me, should know about my Nacho Obsession. (Yes, they deserve CAPS!)MMMM. Well I am happy to report that I passed it on... Kosty LOVES them now too. Whenever I warm up the cheese, he goes and sits at the table and waits for me. If I get up too soon, he will come find me, grab me, and bring me back to the table. Seems they are just not the same without Mama! Its a good little bonding moment for us. :)

DANNY!

I really, really want Danny to win SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE tomorrow! He is so flawless and graceful and AMAZING! I think Mary summed it up best tonight when she said, "I could never, ever get sick of watching you dance!" Well said! Go Danny!!

The things they learn on TV

Brayden has picked up a few things from the tube lately.... here are a few that I can remember right now. YIKES.

"Hey Dada, if you want to get some money, then just call 877-7-ARIZONA."

"Mama, do you have two hundred and ninety nine dollars?" Me- "why?" Him- "to buy the Sunsetter Retractable Awning."

"Mama, do you want your dishes to SHINE? Then rewind it..."
(I rewind it to find a Cascade commercial).

The Laughing Game

I'm pretty sure this is the CUTEST thing my kids have done, thus far. Brayden and I were playing the laughing game and Kosty must have been observing because then he sat down in front of Brayden and started making the FUNNIEST faces! I was dying, it was so hilarious. And the funny thing is that Brayden loses everytime. He cant hold it in, as soon as Kosty makes a face. What a fun memory!

Weekend with Cede and Zach

Brayden lucked out yet again this weekend. Aunt Cede and Uncle Zach came and picked him up and took him to Peter Piper and then Tar-jey & bought him a sprinkler ball. They are always picking him up and taking him for the day. Brayden is so LOVED by them, and I am so grateful that he has young aunts and uncles that are not too busy yet! One of the perks of a big family with a wide variety of ages! Cede and Zach, you guys rock. Oh, Brayden scored this sweet set of glasses and mustache. I almost died of laughter when they put this ensemble together!

Brayden's First Day of School

Yes I am late at this... but here it is. Isn't he handsome. Brayden started Kindersteps which is basically half day Kindergarten, but its for the kids who are not 5 by the cut-off. Then next year his teacher can either bump him up to 1st grade (ah!) or he can go to all-day kindergarten. He was really excited. I, on the other hand am a little unsure about Monday-Friday school from now until he is 18 years old. I guess my sleeping in days are over! Dang. The first morning was rough, he was tired, but then I changed his bedtime to 7:30, to which he responded, "but mama, its still light outside." Since then he has been waking up at 7:00 every morning, gets fully dressed, with his backpack on, and then comes to wake me up. I am so proud of him. Kosty gets so excited to drop him off in the morning and to pick him up. But in between, he walks around the house yelling, "BUBBA!"
