Kosty had a field trip to Marley Farms petting zoo. There was a gigantic camel, an enormous pig, a zonkey, llamas, and plenty of goats and ponies. He got to feed them and brush their fur. He has such cute friends at school, and made me one happy momma when he smiled ever so sweetly in every picture.

easter.

We started with the Easter Pageant. I don't always feel like going, but its always the highlight of Easter. I'm always so impressed how quiet that many people can be, and just how strong the spirit is there, I'm hoping my kids recognize that and love it too.

The next day we had a nice brunch with my Mom's side of the family and then went to a Easter Egg Hunt...well, Brayden says its not a hunt, just a bunch of eggs thrown all over the grass. True.

I think the Bunny gets a little more creepy every year...

Then came Easter morning. That is some incredible bed head.

After conference, we went to my Dad's house for a real egg hunt, and then went to the Figgins.

Kosty picked out these cheapy Spiderman flip flops a couple weeks ago and even though I really tried to change his mind, he LOVES them and wears them every day. Even after the first week of them giving him blisters and making his feet bleed. He wore them still, and limped while doing it. He stuck it out faithfully and now they are nicely broken in, and I have grown to love them too.

I'll start with the positives of Kosty:

He's cute.

Ok, he is good in public. He is good for other people. Meaning, not me or Jeremy. Well, maybe he is pretty good for Jer, but that is ONLY because he is a total softy and will do anything/buy anything for him. Oh yeah, and never gets mad at him. That is why.

Most days there is at least one fit over food, serving ware, or clothes. But most days it's tolerable. There is always one bad day of the week where I want to hang him by his toenails. Or lock him outside. Which I actually tried. (gasp) What do you when he becomes a raging lunatic, and when I put him in his room for time out, I find holes in the wall, every book we own on the floor, (after it had just been cleaned) and Brayden's favorite calendar ripped into shreds? Its more of a punishment for me (and for Brayden) waiting on the outside worried sick about what damage is being done to their room. So that's why I put him outside. Like a bad dog. (ok i actually didn't lock the door)

And maybe it is harder having a very well behaved child first because you constantly compare (Brayden never did this, or that, or that, or that...) Brayden is constantly hurting his cause.

Some days I wonder if I'll make it out alive. Really, truly.

oh. my.

Holy moly, I have found my dream kitchen. I am dying for some whites & blues. Fresh, clean, happy, light, airy...

In our last house, we lived there for four years, just long enough for me to get sick of every paint color and decor choice I had made. I was so excited to move on, redecorate, and do every thing differently. Its been 4 years in our 'new' house. I still love my house, but I am so over dark. Dark tables, dark couches, dark shutters, dark cabinets, dark accessories.

I know (or hope) I'll like it all again in about 4 years. Vicious, vicious cycle.

spring break.

I'm happy to report that the Spring Break bucket list was completed. Well, except for the Museum. I like to do the museum and zoo once a year, that's plenty for me :)

At JumpStreet

This was surprisingly one of the happiest moments, I got sick and wasn't making dinner, so I grabbed the blanket and some food and told the boys to meet me out on the tramp for a dinner picnic. They were SO excited.

Kosty kept his creativity flowing all break long with Legos...and I left my house like this^ for his enjoyment.

We went to the zoo with my sister, my niece and nephew, my brother Chase, and my Mom

They absolutely LOVED the sting ray exhibit. We were there for hours it felt like. They couldn't get enough of those slimy creatures.

Brayden devised a master plan to trick me and his friend Alex's mom when she came to pick him up one day...(blow this up, pretty funny)

(^I think he looks super cute in this picture) Right before break, Brayden's school had yet another ice skating fundraiser at Polar Ice so we went on a little date together. He is getting so good on those skates!

And of course we did the Kids Club at the mall and then saw a movie afterwards. It was a fabulous break. (Minus my tonsillitis)

grandpa turns 50.

Jer's dad had his 50th birthday and we decided to take him to a Suns game. They put his name up on the scoreboard and we all got Suns backpacks. Fun night.

family hike.

One of the things to do on our Spring Break list was a family hike. The kids were more excited about it than they were about any of the other places we went to. I've been whining to Jer that I really want to make an effort to be more of an outdoorsy family, so when my friend told me about the {kid friendly} Hieroglyphics trail in Gold Canyon, we made the trek. It was such a beautiful day, warm with a cool breeze. I loved it so much. The kids loved it too, there was no whining or complaining. It was a lovely day.

Kosty found a cozy niche in this smooth rock wall and relaxed in the sunshine.

I thought they were crazy to go inside this cave, it was deep, and very dark in there.
