Rainy Days & Farewell Camera

So yes, sad but true, the camera is broken (thank you Brayden) and we sent it off this week for repair, so I have missed a million Kodak moments, even the post office man wished me a speedy repair because he said I would be "missing many photo opportunities." Yeah, well aware, thank you. When I told Brayden we had to send the camera to get fixed, he informed me that I should "just order a new one from a catalog." What? I don't even order from catalogs, how he came up with that I'm not sure. So then of course I tried to drill in the point that things are NOT indispensable, kid! I asked him if he had an extra $300 I could use. Stinker! Old pictures here we come.

Back to preschool this week. Bray came in my room at 7:30 on Tuesday morning fully dressed in a green shirt and green hat ready to go to school to see if they caught a Leprechaun in their trap they set up last week. When I picked him up from school I asked him if they caught one and he said, "No, Leprechauns are super sneaky, he just ate the chocolate and escaped." Thursday it rained all day and when Brayden got home from school the first thing he did was get the umbrella and head outside, I haven't seen him that giddy since the last time it rained, just ear to ear grin. It was beautiful weather!!!

We got to go to "Bouncyland" as Brayden called it on Friday, and they played hard! Kosty loved the huge slide, and so did I, we went down it over and over, each time we got to the bottom Kosty would say,"ah-gin!" Somehow we all ended up with a rug burn on the exact same spot on our arms, weird! Friday night my family was down from Snowflake, so we all went to dinner at Charlestons. Saturday came and Aunt Cede and Grandma came and picked up Brayden again, he got to go to McDonald's and Toys R Us, what a dream day for him! and Jer got to go ride his dirt bike. I put Kosty down for a nap and Jer came home and so it was just the 2 of us, very strange! no kids is a strange occurrence, but relaxing for sure!

Kosty learned another new word, he gets a bag of popcorn and brings it to me and says, "pop,pop,pop!" So cute. That boy is just like his daddy, his all time favorite foods are french fries and popcorn. They are two peas in a pod. One night Brayden was really tired and ready for bed when he said, "mama, will you lay with me? My sheets are not bery toasty, but you are. So, Please?" He sure has a way of getting his way! He learned a new word also this week, he said, "mama, Voracious means really, really hungry." Jer just looked at me, stunned. I think it must be the Noggin channel, "like preschool on TV!"

"Totally Sweet" Break

Spring Break came and went, and Brayden was not bored for a minute, that boy played his little heart out this week. We're finally getting a backyard and he has been fascinated with the entire process, he wanted to be on the patio and watch every minute of the excitement. When dust was flying everywhere I made him come in and then he pulled up a chair and watched through the window. He said, "those guys can build sand boxes, and grass, and sidewalks? those guys are so totally SWEET!!" He was very impressed! then a couple days later when he watched them use wheelbarrows and pour concrete, he said, "Never mind, mama, I don't want to be a policeman or fireman, I want to be a worker." I'm glad that he can appreciate good hard work! We got to go to a fun park with a lake and water squirters with a bunch of friends, and I switched bags at the last minute when I realized that I needed a huger(is that a word?) one for all the crap, and anyways I didn't realize that I did have my camera the entire time, I kept saying how mad I was that I forgot it, and it was in there the whole time! ahhhhhhh! So I didn't get any cute pics of that trip. Speaking of cameras, Brayden dropped mine last night, and now it doesn't seem to be working... brand new one too, nice.

Jer's birthday was this week too, and a fun day at work all day he had! Birthdays are just another day for us big kids, I guess. But we did venture out to the mall and ate dinner there and then came back and had cake and ice cream with his family too. But anyways, on the ride home from the mall, Brayden said, "Hey Dada, why do you have expensive things?" Jer sounding a tad defensive said, "like what?" and Brayden said, " Like super special I-pods, special X-Boxes and a special truck." Ha ha, that boy is quite the thinker.

I've had a cold or allergies or something all week so I can't smell or taste anything, very annoying! Good thing for Brayden, my little sniffer, always letting me know when Kosty has a stinky diaper. All of a sudden he will start dodging him and saying, "Ahhhhhh, Kosty don't bother me!" and I'll tell him to be nice, and then he'll let me know, "well mama he's poopy and it stinks so bad!" Whoops! I seriously can't smell a thing. Or he will just insist that I need Febreeze if he detects the slightest unpleasant odor. He learned about Febreeze through a commercial, by the way, sometimes I am afraid he is smarter than I am. Well, back to school this week, no more loungy days, my favorite! and rushing out the door, urgh. But I am so excited that I can finally turn the boys loose out back, Hallelujah for grass!

Oh no, not the "H" word!

Yes, this week its official, I found myself saying the "H" word already, HOT! I can't believe its already hot outside! But hey I am not a pants kinda girl, so I was excited that the kids and I could finally wear some shorts! No more rushing out the door for preschool and trying to make sure everyone was bundled up! That was annoying. So I definitely love the warmer weather. This week Brayden was getting very bored on his off preschool days, even one day he broke down crying, which is very rare for him, because he wanted to play at a friend's house. Poor guy! So I did my best the rest of the week to get that out of his system, he played with just about every kid in the neighborhood this week! We spent a lot of time outside and Brayden was hilarious, he would grab his sunglasses off the counter and then go hop on his skateboard or bike. On Friday he got to play at Jamie's house with all his friends, and when I took him to the door, he said, "Woohoo! here's the party!" Thanks Jamie! he had a blast. Then on Saturday, Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Cede came and got him and took him to lunch and the park and to some stores, he came home with a new shirt and a new toy and he had so much fun,so I think he got way spoiled this week! So Jer and I got to have a semi day date (semi because of one kid instead of two!) we had a romantic time at lunch and the charming, Home Depot, Woohoo! Kosty and I had our date this week at the mall to see the kids show with the chipmunk? "Dewper." He is so cute he dances and claps his little hands. And then we always go on the carousel and as it was going up and down, I would say "up, down." Pretty soon he started saying "uuuuuu, dowwww" over and over even after we left the mall, it was soo cute! Yeah, another word for Kosty, they are coming, slowly but surely! and he got another molar this week, so it was a lovely week for no sleep for me! Gotta love teething.

Brayden has been cracking me up lately, he has been asking me all kinds of intellectual questions, like "Mama, what are you scared of?" and I told him, " I don't know, maybe really scary movies." he says, "like which ones? what are they called?" and I said like " The Saw, or The Ring." so later on he asks again, "What other movies are you scared of besides The Saw? like The Wrench?" I was cracking up! he is so funny. And then lately when he sees a really girly toy commercial, he'll say," Mama, I wish you were a little girl again, so I could buy that for you." It warms my heart, he is so thoughtful! The other night we got him in bed too late, so I told him no books tonight, its too late. He was so upset and then he said, "Fine, I'll just cry and cry and sleep all alone with no books, all alone." Talk about the King of all guilt trips, ouch! So I sang some songs to him and then I left. Jer came in to check on him and of course he tells Jer about how sad he was that he couldn't read books, and then Jer says its ok, lets just tell a few jokes. So Brayden says, "Ok. Knock Knock." Jer, "Who's there?" Bray, "Sad." Jer, "Sad, who?" Bray, "Sad Bubba." Awwww. That little stinker, but he sure knows how to work us over.

I had my first official Pointe lesson this week, ouchie! Ever since I was little I have dreamt of having pointe shoes! Although most girls start on pointe when they are like 12. But that's ok, its never too late! I know I am too old to make anything out of it, but hey for me its just a hobby that I LOVE! and great exercise too. Some of the girls in my class last week found out how old I was and they said, "we thought you were like 17 or 18!" and I think maybe I could take that offensively because I am pretty sure they know I have TWO CHILDREN!!! ahhhh! I sure hope not at 17. Anyways, pointe is a very slow process, it takes a LONG time to get good on them. I have a new respect for all the dancers on pointe that dance for hours and make it look good! its crazy. After 5 minutes, I'm hurting. But as my friend Courtland, an amazing dancer, put it, "Pointe shoes are evil--- but so beautiful."

Snow Trip '07

So we finally made it up North, the first time with both the kids! Koston had never seen snow and I must say he was far from impressed! Jeremy's family was going up and Grandma offered to watch the boys while I attempted to snowboard with Jeremy. I have always wanted to try and figured I better take her up on the offer! Kosty absolutely refused to wear a snow jacket, mittens, or boots for that matter, he kept shoving his Vans in my face to put those on him! After a major power struggle, he won, of course, we headed up and got our lift tickets. Kosty just wanted to play with the snow but got mad whe his hands got cold. Brayden was so excited to go sledding so we did that for about 2 hours and then Jer came back and we went up on the lift! Me, Cede, and Alyssa were all on the lift together and very nervous about getting off, and we had every right to be, because it was quite a sight, all three of us made the most ungraceful exit Sunrise has ever seen! It was hilarious!! I would have paid a lot of money to get a picture of that! After we recovered from the traumatic experience, and with my pro hubby as my coach, we headed down the mountain! Aside from all the falling I really had a blast, Jer was very patient and I thought I was doing really well because I kept rotating my board as I was going down, until Jer informed me that you aren't really supposed to do that! Well it looked cool, I thought anyways! We figured out that my board was set up to be right foot front and I was trying to go left first, so maybe that explains all the "awesome rotating" I was doing! We are all pretty exhausted and the boys were tired so we headed out and drove on to Snowflake to visit my mom and see her new house. It was beautiful and we had a nice time. Brayden had a blast hanging out with Uncle Chase and playing pirates. Fun Weekend! Too bad I didn't get more pics, we only got this one and yes my eyes are closed, of course!

I know its very shocking that I did it without your help, ha ha! But really I will need your help with the details later.... but hey at least its a start!
