on my mind

I need braces.

Every day these two boys of mine seem to bond even more. It's exactly what I always hoped for but never thought would happen. I also love being able to say "my boys."

I no longer believe in white socks. I will never buy them again. I also will never wear a white tank top to the gym again. Unless I buy a padded sports bra.

I love my yoga teacher. She is sweet, soft spoken, and encouraging.

I often wonder what lucky girls will marry my boys and be able to look at their cute faces all day.

I can't believe Kosty will be starting preschool in August. I'll be alone for a few hours a week.

Jillian is going to pick Kiptyn.

If I hear Beyonce's Halo one more time, I might pull my ears off.

Jer and I have been staying up waaay too late watching Friday Night Lights seasons 1 & 2. Fox just confirmed they will be picking it back up for seasons 4 & 5. We're elated.

SYTYCD-- My favorite girl is Melissa by a far mile, my favorite guy is Jason. I couldn't wait to see Asuka leave.

Brayden was way more affected by the death of his infomercial hero, Billy Mays than our King of Pop.

I can't wait for Newport.

It's waaaay too hot.

I'm sick of making dinner.

I miss ballet.

The end.

the surprise

So as I mentioned in the last post, I had promised Brayden a super fun surprise on the last day of school. We picked him up and drove straight to the Arizona Grand Resort, formerly the Pointe at South Mountain. We pulled up to the hotel and he said, "We're staying here?" with a worried and sad look on his face. Oh, crap. When I told him about all the fun to be had, he said, "But I just like HOME. Home sweet home." We checked in, went down to the lobby and ate dinner, then we went to their water park for a while, then went back to our room, ate popcorn, and watched a late movie. The next morning, we all slept in, got in our swimsuits and checked out at noon. We went across the street for brunch and then back to the hotel's water park and spent the entire day. They have 3 huge slides, a lazy river, a wave pool, splash pad, and toddler pool. When we got home that night and put the kids to bed, I heard sobbing in Brayden's room. When I went to check on him, he said, "I... miss... our... hotel." He sobbed for almost an hour. At least he ended up loving it.

last day of school

The last two weeks of school really drug on. Brayden started crying again in the mornings and he counted down every second till summer. I promised him a super fun surprise on the last day. I was sad that they weren't doing the typical stage graduation, instead each class had their own presentations inside their classrooms. But it ended up being really special. Ms. Wahla gave a little speech and she got all choked up and started crying which made me to cry too. She said she couldn't have asked for a more special group of kids for her first year teaching... I never knew it was her first year. Anyway, after their songs, she told a little something sweet about each of the kids' personalities and then the kids all guessed the person she was talking about as they went up to get their certificate. About Brayden she said, "this person is our star reader...he has been a guest reader many times and read to our class...every single day after lunch, he picks up all the trash on all the tables and underneath the tables without ever being asked." All the kids shouted, "BRAYDEN!" I knew he was a great reader but when she said the part about the trash, I was not thinking it was him. Although come to think of it, he does pick up trash at every park and public place we go to. It was lovely. Kindergartners are simply adorable. They're like one big family, all friends, all cute, kind, and know each other's personalities so well. Here he is during the songs. He gets SUPER embarrassed when he has to sing in front of people, as you can tell.

Jack, Brayden, and Sam (his best school buddies. Gosh he's tall).
Brayden and Katie (his crush. He revealed his secret to my little sister Erika one night when she was babysitting. She bribed him that he could stay up later if he told her his crush. He made her promise to NEVER tell me) ;)

♥ summer

My boys have been waking up & playing together quietly and letting me sleep in every morning. Somebody pinch me, its been a dream. No, really--pinch me. I've been sleeping way too long!
We got our Harkins Summer movie passes again this year. Man, is it hard to get there by 9:45!
I absolutely adore this picture. One of my very favorites. I especially love the way tiny Kosty has his arm around his big brother. It makes me smile. And I must say they picked some fabulous accessories. (Somewhere in my photo box there is a picture of me and my big sister with ALL of our accessories on and I'm looking up at her...I must dig that one up).
We love having friends over. Kosty doesn't care too much about making other friends, he is pretty satisfied with just Madison. Hopefully preschool in August will change that! She is a doll. They play SO well together, and it helps that Brayden's best buddy is her older brother. 2 for 1.
Here they were one morning I awoke to them playing checkers online together. Immediately when Brayden saw the flash, he hollered, "You better not put that on the blog!!" No, never.

typical scenario

While Brayden was inside creating a masterpiece...

His brother was outside splashing in mud puddles in the buff. (One of his very favorite things to do).

Mother's Day

Whoa, way behind on blogging here....Mother's Day was lovely, minus the once a month killer migraine that Jeremy happened to get on Mother's Day ;) My kids both answered questions about me in church, I always love these things.

Kosty says:
How old is your Mom? 10
What is her favorite color? yellow
What is your favorite meal that she cooks? spagetti
What do you like to do with your Mom? ride bikes
What is your Mom's favorite thing to do? eat dinnew
What color eyes does she have? blue
What is your favorite thing about your Mom? grandma's house!

Brayden says:
How old is your Mom? 28
What is her favorite color? pink & purple
What is your favorite meal that she cooks? Chicken Chili
What do you like to do with your Mom? Play with her
What is your Mom's favorite thing to do? Watch us
What color eyes does she have? blue
What is your favorite thing about your Mom? she takes care of us

Brayden also made me a book in school and it was so dang cute.

My Mom is the most wonderful mom in the world. She is as pretty as a: "engel"
My mom looks very young at the age of: 28
In the good old days when Mom was little, she used to: "be pretty"
Her favorite food is: "lasaniya"
I wouldn't trade my mother for: "a cat, a dog, and a fish"
I think my mom looks funny when she: "gose crazy"
But I know she is angry when she: "says BRAYDEN!!"
I wish my Mom would "play" with me everyday.

he may be rotten when he's rotten

But when he's sweet, he's reeeeaaaaallly sweet. Really, really, irresistibly sweet. This little boy will not walk past a flower bush without picking one for his momma. Sometimes he goes all the way across the parking lot, and sometimes he skips into the backyard, but he always brings me back a flower. Sometimes I get 5 a day. Lucky for us, there are yellow & purple lantanas everywhere. Also his two favorite colors.

Today when he gave me a yellow flower, he even said, "I wike yow shiwt wike that. And yow haiw wike that." I thought I died and went to heaven.
