the farm

We went with our friends to Superstition Farm a few weeks ago. Kosty was really excited to go up until his shoes & socks "boddered" him. He let that ruin his mood and his fun, but I had a good time and learned a lot of cow facts like: cows are not called cows unless they are female and had a baby. Baby cows weigh more than 100 pounds,and they walk within an hour of birth. When you buy milk at Fry's, Safeway, or Albertson's you are supporting local farms. Milk from Walmart & Costco is shipped & not as fresh. We also got to see a baby calf that was born an hour before stand up for the first time. I got to feed all the animals out of my hand, since Kosty opted out. And we got to eat the most delicious fresh ice cream ever!

Choice

I found this quote while planning my YW lesson, and I really liked it.

So I had to do a "retake" of his first day of school, since this is how he should have looked, according to their rules. Gah, I'm still not used to it!

mysterious lines

Lately, every person kosty draws has had this odd box with lines on its forehead. So, when I asked him what it was all about, he showed me the "lines" on his forehead!

moving day

We moved. We were especially sad to leave a neighborhood of such nice kids that our kids loved playing with. BUT...we are only 3 miles from there, so its not the end of the world, I guess. It was very hard to say goodbye. To say I get attached is a major understatement. I cried my eyes out when we moved from our very first home, when we sold jer's first car, and so naturally I had a hard time with this. I am forever grateful for our wonderful friends and family that have helped us through the transition.

Brayden's friend Riley, lived right across the street and they were constantly together. We don't usually do sleepovers with friends, but the kids begged for Riley to spend the night on our last night there. They went "sledding" on the Uhaul ramp, watched a movie, and woke up to fresh donuts and orange juice. Riley cried big tears the next day, it was sad!

Kosty made this weird creation, and since he knew we were moving, he asked me to take a picture of his masterpiece. As promised...

On a happy note: We do love our new neighborhood, and we are excited about future friendships and memories in the making. The kids are thrilled that we live in a cul-de-sac with a big shaded park & that their room is big enough to separate the bunk beds. I am thrilled that we have grass in the front & back yard, fresh paint, and a real closet. And Jer is thrilled to have half the mortgage :)

We made homeade pretzels for FHE a while back, we bought the kit from Auntie Ann's (mall) and they were super delicious.

Our favorite show ever!! I'm sad & ashamed to admit Jer watched the first 3 seasons alone while I took a major "PASS" thinking it was a show just about football. Ahh. Not so. Once I sat down and watched, I was hooked. Then Jer bought the first 3 seasons on DVD so I could catch up before the other seasons started. NOW it is coming to ABC starting from the first episode!!

The casting is so spot on, you really believe that these people ARE their characters and get worked up thinking its real life and you actually know them. Coach Taylor and Tammy are great examples of a healthy marriage, excellent parenting, & community leadership. They are really good people in general, and its so refreshing to see such a believable connection between husband and wife. I mean, can they just be married in real life?
